The Hot Picks From Air Max Day 2023!

There are few ranges more exciting or sought after than Nike Air Max. Whether it’s the superb black and grey versions worn by men and boys, or the women’s Nike Tuned 1 Air Max Plus Pink Foam, there is a twist of colour or style to suit almost every Nike fan.

Indeed, as GQ Magazine noted ahead of this year’s event, the Air Max range was one of Nike’s great innovations, one that revolutionised the world of sneakers and trainers when it first emerged in 1987.

Small surprise, therefore, that Air Max Day 2023 should be so eagerly anticipated. The event, taking place on March 26th, was no exception, with the experts identifying some sizzling hot picks.

As suggested, no Air Max Day is complete without an Air Max Silhouette. This year brought the Air Max Pulse. This features many familiar elements like the 270-degree Air Max Unit and mixed fabrication, but also a new Air Max logo and two colourways.

It also praised the Air Max 1 '86 "Big Bubble", the launch of which would be “the day’s biggest event”, calling the newest version a design fans have “longed for” with great emphasis on the swoosh logo.

The Air Max Slide also gained some admiration, with the website noting that Nike “has certainly stepped up its efforts in the slide game over the past year”, while the Air Max Scorpion was praised for the originality of its latest “maximalist silhouette” design.

These great sneakers were just some of those that impressed the critics. Footwear News was smitten with the Nike Air Max 1 “Shima Shima”, which may be one for fans of retro to check out; it described this shoe as “a reissue of the popular theme of releases from 2003”.

Yet again, Air Max Day has provided some exciting new editions, ones that may in time become as collectible as anything regarded as retro just now.
